A once-in-a-lifetime event is coming to YouTube that you can’t afford to miss — all the biggest film festivals in the world are teaming up to put on a spectacular 10-day show featuring some of their best entries from the past years!
“We Are One: A Global Film Festival” was organized in light of the public health crisis that has affected the film industry across the world. Twenty international film festivals will be joining the cause, including the Berlin International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Tokyo International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, New York Film Festival, and Venice Film Festival.
“We often talk about film’s uniquely powerful role in inspiring and uniting people across borders and differences to help heal the world,” said Tribeca Film Festival co-founder and CEO, Jane Rosenthal. “All of the world needs healing right now.”
The schedule of movies to be shown has yet to be announced on We Are One‘s official YouTube page, but we can expect an interesting variety of feature films, shorts, documentaries, comedies, music, and panel discussions.
No films scheduled for release in upcoming 2020 film festivals will premiere during this 10-day digital event, however.
We Are One: A Global Film Festival will take place from May 29 to June 7. Proceeds raised will be given to the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
