The country’s second-ever Philippine Startup Week has arrived, gathering the brightest and most innovative minds for a one-week conference aimed at showcasing the best of Philippine ingenuity.
Philippine Startup Week 2020 kicked off earlier today, November 23. With the theme “Filipino Startups Powering Up the New Normal,” it puts the spotlight on how Filipino innovation can improve the lives of Filipinos through the startup community.
“Startups are one of the keys to revitalize the Philippine economy,” said Rene “Butch” S. Meily, president of QBO Innovation Hub. And so, “One startup success is a success for all of us.”
The event will last until November 27, 2020, so there are still four days to go. Since the event is going virtual, entrepreneurs and aspiring startup founders can sign up here for free. After signing up, you’ll receive an e-mail directing you on how to enter Philippine Startup Week’s Attendify platform, where all the talks have been consolidated and organized. It’s like a mini-Facebook dedicated to this year’s event, and the best part is, you can replay some of the recorded talks just in case you missed it.
This year’s talks are jam-packed with big speakers and big data. Day one featured talks from the Department of Information and Community Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, and QBO Innovation Hub, which will be spotlighting 100 startups from around the country throughout the week. The first day also featured a new energy talk by New Energy Nexus Philippines, a timely event given the renewed focus on climate change and sustainability.
There are a lot of talks lined up this week, so don’t miss out, sign up now, and check out the schedule here. There will be talks scheduled throughout the day, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., covering everything from e-commerce to employee culture.
