Time and again, ‘People’s Champ’ Senator Manny Pacquaio has proven that he is truly a down-to-earth person. Despite receiving sarcastic and condescending remarks from Kapamilya newscaster Karen Davila, the boxing champ chose to let it go.

In case you missed it, Karen Davila was put on hot water after her controversial interview with the senator. During their one-on-one, Karen asked Manny if he is in favor of requiring politicians to have a college degree.

The senator responded that was in favor, to which Davila replied: “Pero kung ganon, baka di ka na mag-qualify?” Throughout their interview, the 48-year-old newscaster reportedly bombarded Manny with questions confirming if he is indeed finishing his bachelor’s degree.

As expected, many of Pacquiao’s supporters were enraged after seeing this. However, Manny himself put a stop to the online backlash against Karen Davila. In a statement, the boxing champ was quoted as saying:

“I was never offended by her manner of questioning.

Manny himself pleaded to his supporters to stop criticizing Karen Davila. Instead, we should dedicate our time for the progress of our nation:

“I continue learning not only in academics but also in life. Pakisuap lang po: Let us stop the hate.
